How we finish a job
Before we close out a project, we walk the finished space with you.
During the walkthrough we write up a punch list together of anything that still needs attention. Every item on that list gets finished before we close out the job.
Our written warranty
Every project comes with our written warranty: 1 year on our workmanship, starting when the work is substantially complete. Here it is in plain terms, followed by the full wording.
| What it covers | The workmanship we perform under your contract |
|---|---|
| How long | 1 year from substantial completion, which is the date the work is complete enough for you to use it for its intended purpose |
| How to make a claim | Tell us in writing before the year ends |
| What we do | We may inspect the work first. Then we repair or replace the defective work, at our option, at no charge to you. |
| What it doesn’t cover | Normal wear and tear; normal settling, shrinkage or hairline cracks in drywall, plaster, concrete, grout or caulk; damage from misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, accidents or acts of nature; and changes or repairs made by others |
| Materials and fixtures | Materials, fixtures and appliances are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, which we pass on to you |
The warranty that applies to your project is the one in your signed contract. This is the wording our contracts use now.
Full warranty wording
Seven Home Improvement Inc. warrants the workmanship it performs under this contract for one (1) year from substantial completion. Substantial completion is the date the work is complete enough for the client to use it for its intended purpose. If a covered defect in that workmanship appears during the one-year period, the client notifies Seven Home Improvement in writing before the period ends, Seven Home Improvement may inspect it, and Seven Home Improvement repairs or replaces the defective work, at its option, at no charge within a reasonable time. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear; normal settling, shrinkage or hairline cracks in drywall, plaster, concrete, grout or caulk; damage from misuse, neglect, lack of maintenance, accidents or acts of nature; or changes or repairs made by others. Materials, fixtures and appliances are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, which Seven Home Improvement passes through to the client.
If something needs attention
Call or text the office, or send us an email. Include your name, the project address and a short description, along with a few photos. Clear photos, taken close up and from a few steps back, help us see what you’re seeing.
For a warranty claim, the warranty asks for written notice before the one-year period ends. Email is the simplest way to put it in writing.
If you’re not sure whether something is covered, send it to us anyway, with photos.

Product warranties and care
Materials, fixtures and appliances carry their manufacturers' warranties, which we pass on to you. Each manufacturer sets its own warranty terms and care instructions.
Following those care instructions matters for our warranty too, since it doesn’t cover damage from lack of maintenance.
