Trade partners

We’re a design-build remodeling contractor in San Diego County, and we work with licensed specialty contractors on our jobs. If you run a trade business and would like us to consider you for future work, here is what we expect on site and how to apply.

The work

We design and build residential remodels: kitchens, bathrooms, whole-home remodels, ADUs and additions, patio covers and sunrooms.

Our jobs are across San Diego County, most often in Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Poway and North County. We hold California CSLB license #1078564, Class B General Building Contractor, and we pull the permits and schedule the inspections on our jobs.

Each job has one Seven project manager who runs it and schedules the trades. That person is your contact for the scope, the schedule and access to the house. Before you start, we agree the scope and the price for your part of the work in writing.

What we expect on our jobs

We work in people’s homes. These are the standards we ask every trade on our jobs to meet.

WorkmanshipWork to code, to the manufacturer’s installation instructions and to the plans and selections for the job. If something on site doesn’t match the plans, ask the project manager before you build around it.
CommunicationAnswer the project manager’s calls and texts, and tell us early when something will change your start date, your finish date or the scope.
SchedulingShow up on the days you commit to. Other trades and inspections are booked around your dates, so give us as much notice as you can when something changes.
Protecting the homeProtect floors, finished surfaces and anything else near your work, and keep the work area safe for everyone in the house.
CleanupClean your work area at the end of each day and again when your part is done, so the next trade can start.
Fixing problemsIf something in your work isn’t right, during the job, at the final walkthrough or while it’s under our 1-year workmanship warranty, come back and fix it promptly.
License and insuranceKeep your license active and your insurance current, and send us new certificates when they renew.

How we review applications

Sending an application doesn’t mean you’re approved, and it isn’t a promise of work.

  1. You send your details

Use the form below to put them in an email to our office, or write to us directly.

  2. We look them over

We look at your trade, the areas you cover, your license on the CSLB website and the work you’ve shared.

  3. We talk

When there’s a fit with work we have coming up, we get in touch. At that point we ask for your certificates of insurance and check your references.

Apply as a trade partner

Fill in the form and press Send by email. Your email app opens a message to our office with your details in it, ready for you to send.

Prefer to email or call?

Email the same details to info@sevenhomeimprovement.com, or call the office at (619) 880-2777, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

How sending works. This form doesn’t deliver anything on its own. When you press Send by email, your email app opens a message to info@sevenhomeimprovement.com with what you entered. Nothing reaches us until you send that email.

Your trade (required, choose at least one)

We look it up on the CSLB website.

For example, C-36 Plumbing.

Cities or parts of San Diego County, for example North County coastal or Poway.

A link to your website, Instagram, Houzz or a shared photo album.

Two general contractors you’ve worked for: company, contact name and phone number for each.

We ask for your certificates of insurance later, during screening. Please don’t send them with this form, and don’t include bank details, tax ID numbers or ID documents.
