White shaker kitchen remodel in San Diego County
White shaker cabinets around a wood-tone island with black pendant lights.

How this kitchen came together
The homeowners chose white shaker cabinets with a stained wood island at the center of the kitchen.
We removed the old cabinets, the counters and the dividing wall under the island, and reworked the plumbing so the wall could come out. The three old pendant lights came down as well, and we ran power for two new pendants aligned over the new island.
The white cabinets are semi-custom. We added a third row of glass-door cabinets above the uppers, and framed and drywalled the gap between the pantry cabinets and the ceiling. The island cabinets were built fully custom in stained wood.
Once the cabinets were installed, we templated the countertops from them, then installed the counters and the backsplash. We connected the sink, the faucet and the appliances, and kept the living room sealed off behind plastic while we worked.
